After Studystore ceased operations, students can visit Studiewinkel.nl to view their booklist and order textbooks. Studiewinkel was founded by publishers in higher education in response to the discontinuation of Studystore.
What is Studystore?
For many years, students in higher professional education (HBO) and at university bought their textbooks from Studystore. This was possible both online through their webshop and in physical Studystore stores on campus. Studystore was part of The Learning Network (TLN). In early 2023, parent company TLN decided to shut down Studystore due to delivery problems and poor customer experiences.
Book lists on Studystore
For a long time, many students purchased the textbooks on their booklist from Studystore. But since early 2023, Studystore has closed due to delivery problems, and you can no longer go there to buy your booklist. Fortunately, there is an alternative: Studiewinkel.nl. As a higher education student, you can buy the textbooks on your booklist from us with a 5% student discount (when purchasing at least two Dutch-language textbooks), and they will be delivered quickly to your door. Studiewinkel's goal is to be a reliable platform for students, educational institutions, and publishers, a place where you can find booklists, textbooks, and other study materials, purchase them with a student discount, and have them delivered with a fast turnaround. Studiewinkel now offers a wide range of textbooks and other learning materials, and we continue to optimise and expand our assortment.

Why did Studystore stop?
Studystore stopped due to delivery problems and complaints from students about the long delivery times for their study books. On 13 February 2023, parent company The Learning Network (TLN) announced that it would stop the activities of Studystore and Studers. Studystore sold study books and other teaching materials to students at universities of applied sciences and research universities, while Studers provided this for vocational education students. The Learning Network itself referred to the 'deteriorating market conditions and internal changes' as the main reasons for the decision to stop Studystore and declare Studystore bankrupt. The NOS wrote about this: “In January, during deliveries for the second semester, it became clear that the problems had not been sufficiently overcome and management had to decide to permanently cease operations”.
Does Studystore no longer exist?
Studystore as you knew it no longer exists. In August 2023, a temporary ‘Last chance’ webshop was launched under the Studystore name. But you could no longer look up your book list and buy study books from it as before. You also no longer had access to your old order details. Studystore emphasises that this is a separate webshop and that they ‘do not have access to Studystore customer data’. Studiewinkel.nl is a good and reliable alternative for buying your study books.

Studiewinkel.nl as a replacement for Studystore for study associations
Did your study association previously work with Studystore for the delivery of study books from your programme’s book lists? Then it was, of course, inconvenient that your study association suddenly had to look for an alternative provider for supplying study books when Studystore stopped. VOX, the magazine of Radboud University in Nijmegen, reported on Studystore stopping and the concerns of study associations. Hopefully, you found a good temporary alternative.
